In modern medicine, types of diabetes are classified into three main forms, in addition to which they also distinguish another stage preceding diabetes, which is called prediabetes. Prediabetes is a condition in which blood sugar levels go beyond normal limits, but for such a short time that it cannot be regarded as diabetes from a medical point of view. This condition is closely associated with nutrition and obesity, and in the absence of diagnosis and treatment can eventually develop into type 2 diabetes. In general, the situation can be improved by exercise and a healthy, balanced diet.
TYPE 1 DIABETES
To begin, consider the main type of diabetes - type 1 diabetes . This is an autoimmune disease in which damaged pancreatic cells do not allow the body to produce insulin or a sufficient amount of it to maintain normal blood glucose levels.
Despite the fact that type 1 diabetes is quite rare, it accounts for about 10% of all cases of diabetes among adults in Russia. The diagnosis is usually made before the age of 40, but often the disease is detected in childhood. Because of this feature, type 1 diabetes is mistakenly called juvenile or juvenile, although it can occur at any age.
Since cells are damaged in this condition and insulin deficiency occurs in the body, permanent insulin injections or the use of an insulin pump are required for treatment .
What are the symptoms of type 1 diabetes?
Often symptoms occur very quickly, usually within a few days. If you have any of these symptoms, it’s important not to panic. Diagnosing diabetes is easy. If you identify diabetes with yourself or any of your loved ones and begin treatment in a timely manner, these symptoms will disappear from the first days.
The main symptoms of type 1 diabetes:

Common in children and usually occurs at night

Mood swings
Often caused by rapid changes in blood sugar and stress associated with the need for daily diabetes control
TYPE 2 DIABETES
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes, accounting for about 90% of diabetes patients in Russia. The second type of diabetes occurs when the insulin-producing pancreatic cells are unable to produce enough insulin, or the produced insulin is not perceived (insulin resistance). If diabetes of the first type usually occurs in childhood, the first signs of diabetes of the second type often appear at a more mature age, it is affected by diet and lifestyle. In countries with a high prevalence of obesity, there is a progressive upward trend in type 2 diabetes.. However, this does not mean that a healthy person in good physical condition cannot have type 2 diabetes, the disease can also be associated with hereditary causes. Often, type 2 diabetes does not show any signs, and people live without knowing their diagnosis.
